Sensory Learning Program

The Sensory Learning Program is a multi-sensory approach that simultaneously stimulates the visual, auditory, and vestibular systems with light, sound, and motion.  For over fifteen years, the Sensory Learning Program has been providing a successful noninvasive intervention and delivering results for people of all ages.  It has helped many populations including: Autism, Aspergers, ADD/ADHD, Birth Trauma, Developmental Delays, Learning Disorders, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury and Sensory Integration Dysfunction.

This intervention often results in functional improvement in:

  • Speech
  • Perception
  • Understanding
  • Social Interaction
  • Gross and Fine Motor Skills
  • Coordination
  • Ability to Learn
The Program is a 30-day intervention.  It consists of one hour of treatment (two 30-minute sessions for children and one 60-minute session for adults) in our office for the first 12 consecutive days, including weekends.  After 12 days of sessions, the participant returns home with a portable light instrument to continue the visual portion of program, with 20 minute sessions each morning and evening for the next 18 days.

The Program has worked to improve speech and language delays, attention and concentration, auditory processing skills, gross and fine motor delays, cognitive and perceptual delays, and social and behavioral concerns. As with any program, participants are going to see a variety of results, and some may be more dramatic than others. Noticeable changes may be observed during the first thirty days or we may see it unfold over a few months. Nationally, 92% of the program participants report improvements. The Sensory Learning Program has shown great results for both children and adults as a stand alone procedure. However, when it has been combined with other therapies, it has consistently shown faster progress and more dramatic changes than would have otherwise been seen with traditional therapy alone.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I have worked with many children and adults with delays and disorders involving the sensory system.  While I have seen great progress in traditional treatment, I feel that Sensory Learning provides a stable foundation that allows patients to learn and progress at an even higher level.  I feel privileged to have discovered the Sensory Learning Program, and I am honored to serve individuals of all ages in and around South Carolina
